**Welcome to Whitehall Nursery School Hastings  – A Family-Run Haven for Young Learners**

At Whitehall Nursery School, we believe in cherishing every moment with our little learners. Since opening our doors in 1982, we’ve been dedicated to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in a nurturing, family-oriented environment.

Nestled in a charming Victorian house, our day nursery is more than just a school—it’s a place where children can thrive through play-based and sensory-rich education. With a deep commitment to providing a supportive and safe atmosphere, we invite children to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace.

**Our History**

Founded on 4th October 1982 by Rosemary and Roy White, The home has been part of our family for nearly a century. Originally a doctor’s surgery run by Rosemary’s father, the building has been in the family since 1926. In 1981, Rosemary, a qualified children’s nurse, midwife, and SRN, RSCN, SCM, saw an opportunity to serve the local community in a new way. Together with Roy, they decided to convert the surgery into a nursery school for their daughter Claire, after the neighbouring nursery closed. This was just the beginning of an incredible journey that has seen generations of children walk through our doors—many of whom now return with their own children.

**A Playful, Explorative Learning Environment**

Our spacious outdoor play area is a key part of the learning experience at Whitehall. With a sandpit, water play, slide, swings, and a play fort, children can enjoy a variety of activities that encourage physical development, social interaction, and imaginative play. We also offer a separate free-flow play area, allowing for an open, self-directed learning experience.

As a family-run nursery, we’re passionate about building strong relationships with both children and parents. We take pride in offering an education that not only supports academic growth but nurtures each child's individual needs and aspirations.
